Original post: Raise your hand if you write in your journal every single day.
You can't see it, but my hand is down.
I don't write as consistently as I would like, nor do I capture my insights as often as I believe I should. So, I've decided to try a new project where I write one idea, a thought, a joke, something on one sticky note every day and share it. The goal is to try and create a more consistent form of idea capture within my own process, and provide an opportunity to capture my ideas and observations within tight constraints.
This may mean that I walk around everywhere with a book of sticky notes in my pocket and a pen. I fail to see how this is a bad thing, since I should be doing this anyway. Now, I am human, so there will be days I forget to do this. But I'll just make up for it with catch-up sticky note on the following day. Think of each sticky as a minute in a roll-over minutes plan. I am also going to add the constraint that each sticky note be about my work and professional development. Personal observations can take place elsewhere. This is meant to help me turn the lens and achieve focus around story and process-capture.
So, let's see how this goes. And, if you want to join me, please do!
