The d.school now has a golden armadillo. Last night we hosted the Valentine's Day Mix & Make, an event for participants to express their love for someone else, and perhaps discover a love of making in the process.
The event was a huge success, with a stations for chocolate strawberries, paper flower pots, coffee filter lilies, card-making and stamp-and-embossing.
There was one more station last night, and this is where the golden armadillo comes in. One of the newest members of the d.school, Community Experience Coordinator Mark Grundberg, happened to have an armadillo statuette/beer koozie and decided to take it to the GOLD station. Here, attendees could take anything -- iphone cases, statuettes and, yes, even antlers -- and spray them gold. Mark placed the armadillo in front of a can and fired.
What resulted is what we've officially dubbed the d.school armadillo. It turns out that d.illo is great at giving hugs, mostly to round objects such as cups and bottles, so here's a hug from us to you: Happy Valentine's Day!
