I saw this awesome short animation to support Brené Brown's definition and understanding of empathy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Evwgu369Jw
In her remarks before the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) this summer, award-winning professor and bestselling author Dr. Brené Brown outlined empathy, contrasting it with sympathy and highlighting its connections to bravery and vulnerability.
This month, RSA released an animated short featuring excerpts of her presentation.
"Empathy fuels connection, sympathy drives disconnection," says Brown over the animation of a sad fox, an empathetic bear and a sympathetic deer. "Empathy is a choice, and it is a vulnerable choice because, in order to connect with you, I have to connect with something in myself that knows that feeling."
The animation was created by Katy Davis, also known as Gobblynne.
